For generations, Trostle's Dairy & Poultry Farm has nurtured the land and livestock of north-central Pennsylvania — delivering fresh, honest dairy and poultry to families who value what they eat.
Trostle's Dairy & Poultry Farm sits along Pennsylvania Route 4002 in the quiet community of Shunk — a stretch of rural Centre County where the rhythm of the land still sets the pace of life. What began as a small family operation has grown, through patience and hard work, into a trusted source of fresh dairy and poultry for the surrounding region.
We don't rush what nature takes its time with. Our herds and flocks are raised on open pastures, fed with care, and treated as the living partners they are — because the quality of what we produce begins with how we treat the animals that give it.
Every product from Trostle's carries the same commitment: animals raised well, produce handled with care, and quality you can taste from the first bite.
Whole milk, cream, and other dairy staples from our herd — fresh, unprocessed, and delivered with the care that only a family farm can provide.
Free-range poultry raised on open grounds — chickens and turkeys that roam, forage, and grow at their own pace for meat that is richer in flavor and texture.
Depending on the season, we may also offer eggs, specialty cuts, and other farm-fresh items — always in limited quantities and never rushed.
The land that sustains us deserves the same care we give our animals. Every decision we make is weighed against how it affects the soil, the water, and the community we call home.
We rotate our grazing lands to restore soil health naturally, preventing overuse and encouraging the kind of biodiversity that makes the land stronger year after year.
Our animals live as they should — outdoors, with space to move, fed without shortcuts. We measure success not just by yield, but by the wellbeing of every creature on the farm.
We sell locally, serve locally, and invest in the community that has supported us. When you buy from Trostle's, you're keeping food dollars in the region where they belong.
We welcome visitors to our farm in Shunk. Whether you're picking up an order, asking about our practices, or just wanting to see the place where your food comes from — we'd love to meet you.
